THE CROWN MOTORS STORY

VIVID PROOF - The Free Enterprise System Works. Modern day Horatio Algers - two individuals (Husband and Wife) Jimmy and Sarah Too - competitive and creative - start a company and expand into a group of companies. In over one and half decade, drawing on their association in the automotive industry, they nurture the growth of a dynamic company into timely concepts and distribution.

While growth and consumer awareness of CROWN has come quickly, its genesis span some three decades. Jimmy began his career as a motor car sales rep. in the 60's, he started selling the then popular British Leyland cars - The Morris. In the 70's, when the Japanese vehicles stormed Singapore, he switched camp and joined the Toyota distributor in Singapore. In the next two decades as an Automotive Salesman, Sales Supervisor, Sales Manager and General Manager of Toyota, he learned other lessons and recognized the needs of the car industry - and most important the needs of the ultimate consumer. The car owner could be satisfied.

In 1978, he left the Toyota Distributorship, and started CROWN MOTORS. CROWN MOTORS chose to be special in that it enabled the motorists to save time and money by having all transactions involved in vehicle buying to be carried out under one roof. Thus, the first new car supermart was born. At the same time, the finance company was incorporated to cater the needs of car buyers who wanted financing for the vehicle they purchased.

In 1982, he started a manufacturing company in Taiwan producing the Electronic Coded Key Anti Theft System. This Anti-Theft System first appeared in the Nada Show at Las Vegas in the same year and is selling very well to car dealers all over the States and other parts of the world. Today, this Anti-Theft device is being manufactured in the factory in Dong Guan, China.

In 1990, he became the Asia Pacific Distributors for Total Protection Electronic Corrosion Control Device and a range of unique aftermarket products. Total Protection soon became a household name in this part of the world.

In the same year, he brought over a pest control business and serviced the pest control industry in Singapore. This company has been able to achieve high rate of success in its field because of the reputation of CROWN MOTORS. The company has been successful in most government tenders and also receives supports from the private and industrial sector.

He had foresight of the property markets in this region and started investing in Properties in Singapore, Malaysia, a few provinces in mainland China. His properties consist of Detached Bungalows, Condominiums, Shop Houses, Office Spaces and Lands.

In 1993, He diversified into the food business. He started a Euro-Styled restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. This restaurant serves international cuisine. It is one of the most posh and famous restaurants in HCM city today!

The restaurant has a built in area of 10,000 square feet with a land of 15,000 square feet. There is a live band in attendance. Wedding banquets are often held in the restaurant. With VIP and Karaoke rooms, the restaurant has become a great place for family get together and a meeting place for the foreign and business people in Ho Chi Minh City! We have employed a professional foreign manager and a staff of 150 employees.

In 1994, he started a joint venture manufacturing company in Dong Guan, China. He moved the production of the Electronic Coded Key Anti-Theft Device from Taiwan and started manufacturing this product in this facility. We have secured other products from other companies and produce under license for them.

The Dong Guan factory is a 3-storey building and has a built-in area of 20,000 square feet. Presently there are 280 employees, and we have a capacity to produce 50,000 units of the Electronic Code Key Device and 60,000 units of the electronic rust protection control devices per month besides producing other electronic items for our very selective customers. Production of our Electronic Corrosion Control Device units began in August 1995.

In the third quarter of 1995, when the inventor of the Original Electronic Corrosion Control Device decided to retire, CROWN MOTORS purchased the majority stocks from the inventor. With this purchase all international business relating to the Electronic Corrosion Control Devicewas transferred to his offices in Singapore, where he could oversee the international business and plan for its expansion. In this way, he could monitor the growth and success of the leader in the Electronic Corrosion Control Device!

In late 1998, due to their success in business ventures ranging from motor vehicles related business to restaurants and property investments; these prompted them to do their share in the care and education of young children - the future citizens of Singapore. An investment in education is an investment for the country's progress.

After a thorough search of several early childhood care and education service providers, they have chosen Kinderland Educare Services Pte Ltd as their franchise partner.

Kinderland has established a strong preschool and child care franchise network in Singapore and the Asia Pacific region with a professional team of curriculum and eucation specialists to develop and monitor "in-house" programs for young children. They named "Kinderland Academy" as the name of their chidcare centers.

Today, Kinderland Academy has 2 centers, both in the prime residential districts of Singapore. The first center has achieved full capacity of 150 children and the second center which started only six months ago has about 100 children to-date! Jimmy & Sarah take pride in the success of these 2 childcare centers and their role in the community development!
In the year 2000, he started production of water treatment products – the Electrolyzer 2 and the TDS Digital Water Tester!

Mr. Too travels extensively to visit all his distributors at least once a year inspite of his busy schedules. His distributors have nick-named him "Santa Claus" because during his visits he would bring some new innovative products to give them more business and generate more profits!
